“London, May 26th to Istanbul, 1st June 2011”Look out Londoners…as the 13th annual Gumball 3000 Rally from London to Istanbul will take off on Thursday May 26th 2011 from Pall Mall in Central London! Attracting „rock stars‟ to „royalty‟, the entry grid of 120 amazing cars and 300 participants, the 2011 Gumball Rally will be nothing short of spectacular! From the worlds of Hollywood, Action Sports and Music, stars will converge to take their place on the grid, as well as Gumball Alumni greats such as Xzibit, skateboard god Tony Hawk, David „The Hoff‟ Hasselhoff & R‟N‟B star Eve!Gumball 3000 always has a magnificent selection of super cars and 2011 will be no exception, showcasing everything from Zonda’s, Aston Martin One – 77‟s and Veyron Pur Sangs, to Phantoms, Ferrari‟s, Lamborghini‟s, Rolls Royce‟s and Bentley‟s to Low Riders, American muscle cars and Tesla’s, to Charles Morgan in his Morgan 3 wheeler! With event sponsors such as lifestyle sportswear brand Puma providing „Gumball 3000 Edition‟ driving shoes, Nixon creating unique timepieces, Incipio providing the technical survival kit for modern living and Betsafe.com creating the excitement of gambling. This eight day „road trip‟ is certain to live up to all expectations of being the world‟s most stylish, adrenaline fuelled adventure of a lifetime! We are kicking off the evening of 25th May, with a „VIP‟ launch party in Central London, with exclusive performances by a line up of international guest musicians and DJs! The following day, Thursday 26th May, get yourself ready for a “free” day of Gumball entertainment. Over 120 amazing Super cars will be on display along with 25 Eco Vehicles, showcasing the recent green technological leap into the future that is spreading across the world! This is our biggest step to place next year‟s rally at the forefront of automotive rallying and plans have evolved for Gumball to curate an exhibition of Eco and Futuristic cars en route! The exhibition will incorporate cutting edge automotive design, fashion and education, with famous artists and car manufacturers involved. The display will then tour key cities over the following 4 months after the rally, to demonstrate that Eco vehicles can be cool and usable! At 3pm the 120 super, muscle, import and luxury cars will set off and head off on a 3000 mile journey incorporating fabulous parties and stopovers in Europe‟s hottest destinations! From London the tour heads to Paris for the second Gumball Eco Vehicle exhibition, then onto the impressive Barcelona seafront, followed by a whole weekend enjoying the Monaco Grand Prix from the best viewpoint in town, the infamous hairpin bend! From Monte Carlo all 120 vehicles and participants will wind into the breath-taking hills of Italy and continue their journey into picturesque Venice, continuing on to Zagreb, Croatia in Eastern Europe and stopping over in Belgrade to experience Serbian style celebrations before heading via Sofia to the delightful Turkey and its mighty Istanbul, where they will cross the finish line on the evening Wednesday 1st June, culminating in a huge closing party on the banks of the Bosphorus!
